Course Description
Risk assessment training provides information on how risk assessment strategies can be applied to a product development process.

Learning Objectives
The overall goal of intermediate safety training is to provide a mid-level exposure to the risk assessment safety process and hands-on training resulting in a broad understanding of key product safety issues.

Prerequisites
Participants should complete the Introduction to product safety and compliance course (SCPRA01) before attending this course. Alternatively, they should have a minimum of 6 months’ product safety and compliance experience and have completed the course pre-reading material.

- Review of risk assessment methodologies used throughout the world
- An overview of ISO 31000 Risk Management as it applies to product safety risk assessment
- Risk assessing suppliers
- A detailed and focused explanation of the world’s leading and most authoritative product safety risk assessment tool – the European Commission’s Risk Assessment Guidelines imbedded in the RAPEX System
- Common products and risks (case studies of what went wrong and why)
- Test methods
- Practical hands-on product risk assessment exercise to enable group learning and experience sharing
